Discussions and exchanges about the inter-religious dialogue

Born in Dakar in 1973, Henri Sagna graduated from the National School of Arts of Dakar. He was part of several Dak'Art Off's. In 2005 he exhibited in Aigues-Morte (France) and at the Cultural Week in Burkina Faso and  recieved the first prize at the National Salon des artistes plasticiens sénégalais. He was part of the show " Contemporary Senegal " at Dapper Museum in Paris in 2006, the 3rd edition of " Urban Sculpture " Artifact in Montreal in 2007, " Detour " a project by Moleskine, at Der Dinge Museum in Berlin in 2008 and was also part of the Panafrican Festival of Algiers in 2009.

Committed artist , Henry has produced several works on inter- religious dialogue. "Another world is possible" ( see photo ) is a perfect example of his commitment on this subject. The work represents a possibility to link both Muslims and Christians who are to various degrees in complex relationships and not always calmed for centuries. In this chunking two entities illustrated by Muslim and Christian places of worship.

Sagna tries to bring them together, reconcile and unite them in a world of tolerance and sustainable peace. This work highlights and promotes inter-religious dialogue. All these religious wars in the world grow the artist to seek answers and generate successive questions.

The conference was moderate by Massamba Mbaye, journalist, art critic, exhibition curator, historian of communication theories and graduated in marketing. President of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA ) . Actualy Mbaye served as CEO of DMedia which publishes magazines such as Dakar Life, Zeina , the daily La Tribuneand and has in its portfolio Zik fm radio and Sen tv, among others. He is a member of the editorial board of Afrik'Arts, visual arts magazine published by the Dakar Biennale.
