Baba Ba

Baba Ba is a young Senegalese filmmaker and photographer. He started making short documentaries about student life at Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar where he studied in the History department. He later joined CineUcad, the university’s film club. He has always been intrigued by the history and issues of society, which have served as a source of inspiration for his scripts narrated through photography and film. As a member of the art community he has a keen interest in all artistic activities. Ba trained in cultural entrepreneurship at the House of Urban Cultures (MCU) and participated in the development of Xibar, a daily newspaper, produced during workshops on journalism and art criticism organised as part of the 12th edition of Dak’art, Dakar Biennale of Contemporary African Art. Ba is currently working on his first short film entitled Makoye’s Revolt. He lives and works in Dakar.
