Fatou Kiné Diouf

Fatou Kiné Diouf was born and grew up in Dakar before moving to Paris at the age of 18 to continue her studies. After completing two years of preparatory classes in Literature, she decided to study English at Paris Sorbonne University, majoring in African American studies and focusing on the link between racialization, politicization and cultural production with an emphasis on film and music. In parallel, she enrolled in graduate studies in Political Science with a focus on diversity, representations and discriminations at Paris 8 University, where she researched homosexuality in the context of Senegalese identity construction. As a member of several associations and political organizations focused on Black and African cultures, racism or gender inequalities, Fatou attempts to develop a theory on inequalities, both at the local and global level, that could lead to a form of activism which would be at once transnational and respectful of local specificities. She lives and works in Paris.
