Marion Louisgrand Sylla

Marion Louisgrand Sylla was born in 1972 in France, she is part of a family of artists.

After one year in Taipei, where she studied classic Chinese painting, she obtained her master's degree in Chinese (INALCO Institute of the languages and oriental civilizations), in Paris. She then completed her master's degree in management of cultural affairs, before specializing in music and entertainment with work experience in the MIDEM (International Market of Musical Publishing) in Cannes and Hong-Kong.

In 1998, she worked at Mains d'Oeuvres, a cultural centre in Paris where she was coordinator of Trans Europe Halles, a European network of independent cultural centers working from industrial heritage buildings and operating at the crossing of art and society. She was in charge of In and Out Of Europe, a project of exchange between informal art venues in Africa and Europe.

In 2002 she established Kër Thiossane together with her husband. Marion has developed numerous important projects since then and she lives and works in Dakar.
