Session 6 Art from Central America: Our Bodies Ourselves

As part of the session 6 of the RAW Académie CURA, RAW Material Company invites you to "Art from Central America: Our Bodies Ourselves", a public lecture with Miguel A. López, Friday April 19th, 2019 at 6:00.

TEOR/éTica is a non-profit visual art organization founded in 1999 by Virginia Perez-Ratton, a Costa Rican artist and curator. Its mission is to contribute to the research and diffusion of contemporary art practices in Central America and the Caribbean in dialogue with global realities. This presentation explore the work of Central American artists who use diverse strategies of self-fashioning and image-making to explore the political representation of gender. 

 

About Miguel A. López

Miguel A. López (b. 1983) is a writer, researcher and co-director and chief curator of TEOR/éTica, Costa Rica. His work investigates collaborative dynamics and feminist re-articulations of art and culture in recent decades. His texts have been published in journals such as Afteralle-flux JournalArt in AmericaJournal of Visual Culture, and Manifesta Journal, among others.
