Out of format: Round table Transversal heritage and identity

° Friday, January 12 - 6pm
Round table Transversal heritage and identity with Alyssa K. Barry, Mauro Petroni, Serigne Mansour Fall and Fehe Sarr, moderated by Carole Diop and Nzinga Mboup

The speakers will explore the issue of raising public awareness, which involves in particular the appropriation or reappropriation of heritage. Together, they will assess the validation criteria for the protection of the common good in order to enhance the city's identity.

Architectural heritage is a material representation of our cultural heritage. It is what defines our identity, what links us to the past, present and future, what we bequeath to future generations and offer to the rest of the world. Whether we are talking about the Pencs which still can be found in the city, the architecture we inherited from the painful colonial past, or the architecture that came into being following independence, it is now more than ever urgent to preserve Dakar's architectural heritage in its entirety.
