Massow Ka is a self-taught Senegalese photographer and filmmaker, born in Saint-Louis in 1990. His work explores memory, urban transformation and intergenerational transmission through photography and documentary.
He has exhibited in Africa and Europe, notably at the Biennale de Bamako, Fotosa de
Ouagadougou and the MuPho de Saint-Louis. He is also a laureate of NOOR Images' Advanced Visual Storytelling program. In 2023, he presented Gare Yi, a series on Senegal's railway heritage, a project that is currently being expanded to other territories.
His documentary Yaram was selected for several festivals in Africa, Europe and Canada, winning the WIDO Special Prize at the St. Louis Docs 2023, as well as other distinctions.
Between creation and transmission, he also leads training workshops for young artists in Senegal and elsewhere in Africa.
